Thank you for your support of this charity. On the 10th November we will be holding a party to officially hand over the cheque to the NW Air Ambulance! We expect it to eventually reach over £10,000!

Finish line! 3.00p.m. 28 September - we were met at Blackpool Airport by family and friends and interviewed live by Radio Lancashire. We are all fit and well and enjoyed it all!!! Glad to be home with our families....

Day 12 - We have done 92 miles and reached St Michaels on Wyre. All the team are in good spirits and fine. We should arrive at Blackpool Airport terminal at 3.00pm tomorrow (Friday 28 September) for the finale of our fantastic journey!!!

Day 11 (extra)- We arrived in Newcastle late (1.00p.m.) due to bad weather while crossing the North Sea. We only managed to do 48 miles during the day and are now at Barnard Castle - 85 miles from Blackpool. Everyone's in high spirits and fit! But very cold - the temperature drop was enourmous as we entered the UK! We should arrive in Blackpool on Friday - on time!!!

Day 11 - We arrive in Newcastle at 10.00a.m. We are hoping to do 65 miles during the day.

Day 10 - We are now on the Boat!!!!! Very tired but in good spirits and everyone is well!!

Day 9 - Done 90 miles today - Just outside Amsterdam! Only need to do 40 miles to get the ferry to Newcastle in the UK!!!

Day 8 - Done 85 miles today - Almost at the Dutch border......

Day 6 - sorry mistake yesterday - we are 2/3 of the way across Germany! Done 388 miles altogether now. We forgot to mention Neil Mochan's Birthday (van driver) yesterday - Happy Birthday Neil! The van is perfoming beautifully! Stunning views of castles, towns, vineyards along the Rhine. We are now 5 miles north of Koblenz.

Day 5 - over half way there! About 70 miles added on. We are now at Nierstein on the Rhine. We have travelled through Bavaria and the Black Forest not daunted by one of the team falling and gashing his forehead on his shattered sunglasses. We're made of stern stuff!

Day 4 - 240 miles done!! We are now near Heilbronn and cycling alongside a river. Although there have been a couple of falls everyone is fit. The riverside cycleways are brilliant! We will join the Rhine tomorrow (day 5) that should take us through to Holland hopefully on equally good cycleways!

Day 3 - more than 60 miles done! Very windy day........

Day 2 - 10 miles under schedule! Ironically we saw an injured cyclist airlifted away by the Bavarian Air Ambulance! One person got lost on a motorway, names were taken by police and rescuing car-accident victims...... Did very well considering!

Day 1 - 40 miles done! Munich air ambulance met the team at the airport and set the team off on this momentous journey!

On Friday 14 September at 7.50am on BBC Lancashire (95.5FM or 103.9FM or 104.5FM) Tony Livesey interviewed the team. The team will be interviewed 3 or 4 times during the trip, so listen in!

Granada TV interviewed the team at Blackpool Airport with footage of the helicopter televised during on Friday 14 September on Granada news. Wwatch out for further news!

Articles have been published in the Leyland & Chorley Guardian, The Lancashire Evening Post, Manchester Evening News and the Leyland Chronicle.

A great big fat pat on the back for all of you that have already donated and pledged, we have raised £1182.05 through the website alone. There are a number of companies and individuals pledging direct aswell, so I will keep you updated as we progress on the amount we eventually raise.

I'd really appreciate it, if you could read the Readers Digest and Lancashire Life articles on the useful links page. Once you have, you will understand how important the Air Ambulance is and why I wanted to get involved!

The team successfully entered the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride on the 8th July 2007...

"We got well and truly soaked and it also hail stoned on the route aswell. All the team completed the route in times between 2 hours 50 minutes and 4 hours 20 minutes. I think we all felt it was a great success. It was also the first time Paul had been on his bike on the road since his accident last year, so every credit to him for completing it".
